Stephan Siepermann graduated from the Design Academy in Eindhoven in 2005. His studio for furniture concepts and product design is based in Utrecht. Siepermann is driven by an interest in manufacturing, always seeking out new ways to use materials and techniques. The starting point of his work is always to serve its user and his designs are often embedded with a layer of social engagement.
Locky is a wooden cabinet celebrating the clever design of steel lockers. Wanting to bring the simplicity and strength of the design into the living room, Siepermann studied the construction of the traditional locker and translated the design into wood, including the ventilation slots, hooks and the lock.
Siepermann’s admiration for gears and the technical craftsmanship of clocks and safes was the starting point for Mr. Knox. The eye-catching piece of furniture combines playfulness with the technical language of its inspiration.
